Tyler Eschendal is an LA composer, percussionist, and videographer originally from Metro-Detroit. Speech, stuttering, and (dis)fluency are topics at the core of his percussion-based works. His music has been showcased at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, American Composers Orchestra, Andriessen Festival, Young Composers Meeting (NL), Blackbird Creative Lab, and Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. He has worked with such ensembles as Sō Percussion, ymusic, Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, orkest de ereprijs, and the Los Angeles Percussion Quartet.
Tyler holds a B.M. in music composition from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati and a M.M. in composition from the University of Southern California. In fall 2025, Tyler begins as a PhD candidate in Composition at Princeton University.
